From traditional attire such as the Atibo worn by the Ijaw Clan indigenous to southern Nigeria, Ashoke worn by the Yoruba’s, kente by the Ghanaians, to the more modernized African-inspired dashikis, and dresses, the various print designs, and range of colors of Nigerian and African textiles is having an enormous amount of influence on the global fashion industry in the 21st century. Nigerian designs and African fashion in general have become a strong part of global pop culture.

Fashion and designer power houses like Gucci, Gianni Versace, and Louis Vuitton are now including African print elements into their products. International runway shows are now including African prints and designers to their arsenal.
